“Carry a Compass”

You can’t see the Magnetic field, but every Compass knows its there. You can’t see the Satellites up in the sky, but every smart phone and GPS knows they are there! Incredible inventions have been a part of “the plan” (Daniel 12:4) through the Ages. Like the things of God, you can’t see Him, but many of us know He’s there. From the East to the West, and from the North to the South, there is a plan for each person (Jer 29:11) ever created. Born with a map (Bible) and a Compass (Holy Spirit) on how to get us all home. We live in a world where the culture wants to pull you apart from East to West… but the only way to be your true self is to “Carry a Compass” and “follow the Map”.

The Bible is our road map. If you think it’s outdated, think again… Hebrews 4:12 says, “The Word of God is living and active, piercing soul and spirit, joint and marrow, and judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart”. It is alive… and it will move in your body, spirit and soul in your every moment of life (Acts 17:28), especially on your journey in life. The compass is just like the Holy Spirit of God, as He points you with specific answers to what you should do next. To go straight, to go right, to go left, to stop, to pause, or to back it up. The Compass of God will keep you up at night (Psalm 16:7) and make you go around the block (of Life!) until you realize it’s Him talking to you! Remember Jesus himself said, in Revelation 22:16, “I, Jesus, am the…. Bright Morning Star”. Don’t follow the wrong star (like a Hollywood star), just point your Compass North, and the Magnetic Needle will torque on your heart to take the Ancient Path… and He will get you home. Its that simple.

Carry A Compass

Carry a Compass…!

Ancient Explorers have been carrying a compass since the beginning of time.   Although… when the Magi (the Wise Men) set out for a 1000 mile journey on camels to find the Messiah, the Savior and the Prophesied King of Kings… what did they use to navigate their way?   Sorry, but the little gadget called a Compass with a magnetized needle that always pointed to the magnetic North Pole was not invented yet.  So how did they do it?  The prophecy of the star at the birth of Jesus is found in Numbers 24:17. Ohhhhh, so the Scripture was their Compass and it pointed them to the Star….   The wise men who were looking for the Messiah knew about this prophecy, so it is obvious that the Jewish Bible was kept by the wise men of this region from the East (Persia, modern day Iran & Iraq).  These Wise Men were probably taught and influenced by the teachings passed down from the Prophet Daniel who became the Chief Magistrate of all wise men of Babylon. Daniel 2:13, 2:48.  Just think, as a young boy, Daniel was dragged off to a foreign land as a slave where people did not believe in the God of the Bible.  If you follow the dots… then you will know that God humbled a young man in a strange land, he lost everything, including his Jewish name and identity… but Daniel never lost his true north compass, his never ending faith in God.  As a result?  He became the Chief Magistrate of all the wise men of Babylon and prepared the way for the Magi to be learned in the Scriptures and they found the Bethlehem Star as well as the “Light of the World” John 8:12.

Its interesting that when the Magi asked Herod where this Star and King was (Matthew 2:1-12), he had no knowledge of it.  I love the end part of this story is that the Magi received a dream from God that they should not go back to Herod after finding Jesus, but take another way home!  This is what a real Compass can do for you…  Jesus is set on getting you to your destination, your divine purpose and no one can stand in your way, not even Herod!  Its been my experience that this is the only way to navigate in this world.  As you know, some things are invisible (like the magnetic field) and you must believe in it in order to find your way.  The Bible is Thee best Compass to Carry and just one verse can help you navigate your way home… remember, “Carry the Compass” and “Find your True North”.   Follow the “Bright and Morning Star” Revelation 22:16 (not a Hollywood Star) and He will get you home.  That’s His Promise…

The Music Maker

Tickle the Ivories.

There is a song and a sound that perhaps you have not heard yet.  It’s a sound that will delight you as you hear it with your heart or see it in the tiny details of your life… Its a sound that’s Divine.   Listen.  “The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17

It’s that simple.  God sings over you.  YOU are his creation (“For everything God created is good” 1 Timothy 4:4) and He is so thrilled about you that He sings!  He is a Music Maker, and so are we… and so are the Angels! (Psalm 148:2)  Zephaniah inspired me to celebrate the powerful tool of Music in our lives and to start listening for His voice singing over us…

You may like a microphone and sing Karaoke, play an instrument, sing a song, hum a tune, play a CD collection, play the radio… it’s all part of the plan to make your heart expand and to be moved by an awesome God who will use whatever He wants to touch your heart…  We were made in His image and it really doesn’t get any better than that.   Note the word and enjoy the sound.

The Time Master

He is never late, never early and always on time…  there is no doubt that the God of the Bible is the Time Master of our lives.  The Ancient of Days is sovereign over the future (Daniel 4:32) and that the mysteries of the End of Times are hidden in the Beginning of Time.   “I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.”  Isaiah 46:10

Right now, my family is waiting on God for His perfect timing…  we have our house for sale, and its taking longer than we thought.  Ohhh, I know there are endless excuses that we could have done things differently (like getting it on the market earlier) or we should have done new flooring, or a new light fixture, etc, etc… but the truth  of the matter is that when we bought it, we did not ask the seller to fix anything as “we knew it was the right house at the right time” and none of the little things scared us off!  I am reminded again (and again) this Christmas Season that “My times are in your Hands” Psalm 31:15.  That there are No Step children in the Kingdom of God (even if others make you feel that way!), only Sons and Daughters with a fantastic inheritance.  I encourage you if you are “waiting on God” for something, Jesus is the real deal and His promise is this…  “For the Lord will vindicate his people and have compassion on his servants”.  Psalm 135:14  He is crazy about you and has great plans for you… and for some that don’t know Him yet, it’s as simple as asking Him to come into your heart.  Give Jesus an open door to be a Time Master in your life and with that will come… a peace and joy even in the midst of chaos.  It’s really a miraculous thing.  I don’t really understand it all but I know when I see “perfect timing” in my life that its nothing I could have done on my own- it’s totally a GOD THING!   Enjoy the journey, and trust Him for His perfect timing, even when you don’t see it at the time.   He’s got this!  Merry Christmas and just Believe…
